			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cold as my title may sound, there’s plenty of evidence to show that pets that suffer permanent brain damage from seizures – like those that occur after a near-drowning, poisoning, head-trauma, hydrocephalus (water on the brain), anesthesia-related hypoxia (low oxygen in the blood) and high fevers (among other possibilities) &#8211; can go on to lead perfectly normal lives after surviving such tragedies.</p>
<p>Sometimes, even the worst situations can have excellent outcomes &#8211; especially when we’re talking about neurotically intelligent dogs.</p>
